Season 15 Bachelorette star Hannah Brown is getting backlash after saying the n-word.

She said the slur on her Instagram Live on Saturday while singing “Rockstar” by DaBaby.

Just a warning that the video may be triggering for some, so use caution when watching. Here it is:

.@hannahbrown singing the n word. This is deplorable and while it isn’t my apology, the fact that you would giggle about it as you and your friend deny you saying it and that you’d say “no that’s Patrick”… beyond impermissible. You need to ACTUALLY address this.

People immediately started calling her out in the comments. “I was singing — I’m so sorry,” she said, laughing a little.

“I did? I’m so sorry,” she said, smiling. “I don’t think…Maybe it was Patrick [her brother]. Um, anyway…”

People were upset with her and with the way she “apologized”:

Another white celebrity, Hannah Brown, says the N-word. When are these people ever going to learn? #TheBachelorette #TheBachelor #educateyourself #ignorant #Alabama

Nobody, under any circumstances, that is not BLACK, should ever dare utter this word if they have any semblance of empathy and compassion. Hannah Brown is no exception.

And to do it with such nonchalance is an indicator that this word belongs in her day to day vernacular. 1/ https://t.co/pVxrtEiWrI

Hannah Brown’s the kind of white woman to get married on a plantation. She dropping the N word with the hard -ER in a rap song and then lying about it! Lying, smirking, laughing, dismissing. Not good qualities at all. Stop using Ahmaud’s name @hannahbrown

yes this is about hannah brown saying the N word and then half apologizing and hundreds of white people saying “its ok!!!!” NOPE https://t.co/Oyy4onv42z

Hannah has not further addressed the backlash, but we will update you if she does.
